D22-002: Creating a More Globally Responsible Engineering Sector

My SMART Actions

1) As I write for my university's STEM magazine, I will ensure that my articles are more globally informed, and consider the impact of STEM issues on a global, long-term scale.

2) I will incorporate responsible engineering principles into my university work, in particular the design projects, which will help me make more sustainable decisions as an engineer.

3) I will continue to develop my journey as a STEM ambassador, and actively get involved in outreach to help inspire the next generation of globally responsible engineers.

SMART Actions

1) I will begin to participate in outreach programs with Engineers Without Borders at my university to help teach young people about the environment and encourage them to get involved.

2) I will research other ways of being more sustainable in my everyday life and take those points on board to lessen my negative impact on the world.

3) I will read more on the topic of globally responsible engineering specifically to enhance my knowledge of how it can benefit society as a whole and bring this into my design projects to deepen my understanding.

My Smart Actions:

1. Try to encourage more young people from diverse backgrounds into engineering as a STEM Ambassador through outreach programmes.

2. Incorporating sustainability and global responsibility into all my projects at university and making this a priority in all my design choices.

3. Improving, and constantly expanding, my awareness on global responsibility through projects and competitions such as these.
